I wake up this morning with the day off expecting another learning experience between myself, my bike and Mulholland Hwy (The Snake). I got all that and more...
After a couple runs up and down from the Rock Store to the top and back I took a break at the top lookout, I put on my headphones, and laid down on the wall. I hadn't seen anyone for 1/2 an hour and all of the sudden, I here it... I couldn't tell what it was, I thought Italian, 430?, 458, F12? or LP 550, 560, 570 or maybe a 700??? Which ever one it was thought it must not be stock as I have never heard that refined of a note out of any vehicle. The loudest nastiest growl i have ever heard out there, it was, the McLaren MP4-12C. I've seen plenty of expensive/beautiful/fast cars out there but this was different, this guy was running it!!!
He was driving the car as intended, got to the top, parked and got out. After about 30sec he came over and started asking about the R1. A true motor-sports enthusiast, he wanted to know about the R1 and the crossplane, unconcerned about me drooling over his few hundred thousand dollar car. He was not there to show off, he was just there to drive, push his vehicle and enjoy the beautiful day.
