I did try the search feature so I hope this isn't a repeat. I found lots of --soon to be-- useful information.
So I was slowing to a stop light when all of the sudden I lost pressure in the rear brake. Scared the hell outta me cause i thought I had gotten brake fluid all over and was sure I was gonna slip but after coming to a stop, looking over and inspecting a little I saw no fluid. I pulled off the road to take a better look and still I could find no fluid anywhere - no evidence of any seal being broke that I could see.
I took the cap off the reservoir. The blatter was fulling extended and the fluid was low, but still within the Min/Max lines... closer to the Minimum Line. Put the cap back on and gave it a few pumps with my hand and I could see the fluid level rising in the reservoir when I press the pedal down.
Pads look good, no leaking around the caliper pistons... When riding, if I press the rear brake, it works for just a moment and then nothing, won't hold any pressure.
Did I break a seal inside the master cylinder? Did I get air in the system somehow? I've seen plenty of threads on here about people having trouble with their brake system not holding pressure but it's always when their working on it and did something wrong... I wasn't working on mine, just cruising down the road and it did this on it's own.
What puzzles me is that there is fluid missing and no signs of a leak, how could that be... :dunno
