Superbike Unlimited Re-flash result

Since so many people are always asking about where to re-flash their ECU's on the R1, I thought I'd weigh in on my personal results. I have a new 2012 50th WGP edition that I just picked up about two weeks ago, and promptly put a full Akra system on, and sent the ECU off to Justin at Superbike Unlimited last Friday.

Got the ECU back on Tuesday evening, but had plans with the wife, so didn't get to ride the bike. (Although I DID plug it back in and start up tbe bike to make sure it started -- it did)

So when I got home from work today I finally got a chance to take the bike out for a long-awaited ride. Didn't get to go far, had to get back and tend to the outdoor grill, but in the 5 or 6 miles I rode, there is a huge difference for the better in the bike. No drop-off on top-end, and the mid-range seems to be stronger too, but again, the bike has a grand total of about 10 miles on it, so I don't exactly have a ton of seat-time with this particular one to compare the before and after. (I had a 2010, but sold it)

I can't say enough about how hassle-free the buying experience was with Justin and the SBU crowd. The email I sent them told them pretty-much what I wanted, but just to be sure I called him and he was very helpful with suggestions about what to change in the ECU and what to leave alone.

Anyone that is considering re-flashing their ECU should give strong consideration to the guys at Superbike Unlimited. I'm impressed for sure. Now when the bike is full-throttle in first or second gear, even with stock gearing, the front end gets light, with the tire barely skimming over the pavement, and it revs up much quicker, and the engine-braking is greatly reduced. I'm now officially a happy camper! Thanks guys!

Only problem I have now is the smell of plastic or rubber of some sort burning. I now have to go through the entire exhaust system and make sure nothing is touching something it shouldn't be. But that's no fault of the ECU, it's my mechanic skills, or lack thereof.
