Bike for beginner wife

Was wondering if there was any of you out there that could offer information about a good frst bike for my wife? She has always ridden with me and has recently decided that she wants her own bike!! She completed her beginners safety and basic riders class this past weekend and now the search for a bike has begun. Problem is, she is 5'2"!!! So all of the bikes we looked at today(ninja 650r, gsxr600, ninja300, cbr500r, r6, zx6r etc...) all are too high for her to get feet anywhere close to the ground. I believe she would prefer the slightly more upright riding position but not too big of a problem as I can get a set of helibars for most of them. Any suggestions??? Anyone had this problem with shorter riders??
