Hi fellow R1ers...
I thought I'd actually introduce myself.
I was trying to hold off on the formal intro until i had myself some internet at home.
That's right I live in the stone age: no cable, no internet. Well... what happens is I keep saying I'll get it next month and then I keep finding more parts and gear to buy for my bike and my skin.
But since I pop on here quite often using work internet and other avenues I guess I'll say hello.
Anyway, my name is Joel I ride an 06. Live in Dallas GA. I like riding in the mountains, hitting small objects with bullets at obscene distances, and blasting paper zombies and various electronics and components straight to hell. :machinegu
I'm a huge gun guy. I've been building, refinishing and repairing them for the better part of my adult life (bought my 1st gun (AR15) at 19). I've built FN-FALs, some precision rifles and tons of ARs
I'm pretty politically active. Some might call me a right wing extremist. I do think of my self as an extremist but not on any particular party's side. Simply put I'm an extreme constitutionalist i guess.
I'm a sport bike fanatic. Guilty as charged. I've always loved Yamahas.
My dad had an 88FZR1000 worked over pretty sweet and painted up in the Vance & Hines magenta with yellow flames paint scheme (I'll try to find a pic of it and post it up here). That was my first intro to a real power machine. :flex:
I've been riding since 4th grade but my R1 was my first street bike that's been tagged and insured. :butt I thought about getting a 600 or something first but didn't want to be stuck. I'm not rich and don't care to waist my money buying bikes and trading in when I could just get one and grow into it. Kinda like my first XR80 when I was in 4th grade. Hell I couldn't even get on it without a leg up. Well that AND it was hard enough to convince the wife to let me spend that kind of money in the first place. :fact
