How do you run in your new motor?

Sorry I know this thread can be easily compared to oiltyreschainlubeairfiktersandhowdoipopawheelie but I'm freaking out here quietly!

I'm lucky enough to be purchasing a brand new bike and am faced with running in an engine for the first time ever.

I understand the modern engine is practically run in but I want to 'do it right' by the engine for the first XXXX.

I've always had ideas of what I'd do but now it's going to be a reality I'm second guessing everything I've ever read, herd and believed.

My understanding is the "damage" or lack thereof is done in the first few miles anyway but apart from no constant speeds, lugging the engine etc, any specific do's or do not's?

Can I two up right off the bat if the boss that's authorised this purchase wants to come and pick her up with me? Or is that the same as towing a trailer while running in a car lol.

Run in on Dyno?

Smash out the 1000km in one hit and take for service the next day or, plug away at it in a few hundred km blocks to heat cycle?

I know I'm freaking out too much but I ain't fuvking up $24k of motorcycle! :scared
