Hi everyone. I'm rebuilding my wrecked R1 I bought. Exhaust and new rad are fitted. I've bypassed the keyed ignition switch with a simple toggle switch. I've taped the key to the transponder to trick the immobilizer system into thinking its all stock. There is no wiring harness to the lights, and the air sensor in the one RAM air tube is gone as of yet. I still need a new fuel pump, as this one is leaking thru one of the electrical connection.
So with the transmission in neutral, I switch the ignition on, the EXUP valve cycles, the fuel rails hum. But I go to crank it over, and there is nothing. Should it not at least turn over? I even tried bypassing the clutch switch, and I made sure the kickstand was down.
When the bike was crashed, he lost it while wheeling, and it started cartwheeling down the highway. Could the starter have jammed? Could the starter solenoid be damaged? I could try cranking the starter motor directly, but don't wanna burn anything out. Is that just 12 volts? Any help or advise is appreciated.
