Yet another chain thread - drop teeth on both

So stock I have 17/47 = 2.765 final drive.

If I go to 16/45 = 2.813 final drive, I will still gain some acceleration and also drop some weight, also due to a probable drop in 2 chain links as well (however inconsequential, I'm aware it's likely unnoticeable).

My goal is to go for some degree of looks (i hate the stock silver sprocket/chain on there now), move to 520, and gain a little bit of low end. I'm mostly happy with stock gearing, I'd just like a minor boost in cornering rpm at low gears, so the .05 final drive difference is just a "might as well since I'm buying a new chain kit" sort of deal.

So...is there any faults with my logic? Will dropping size on both sprockets result in anything detrimental? Too much chain rub on the swingarm guides? Substantial decrease in chain life due to fewer links?

Most people seem to go down 1 up 2 which seems like it would keep a positive chain angle, just wanted to make sure going down on both :sneaky wouldn't cause unwanted side effects.
