So I keep checking out everyone elses build threads, and love looking at them for ideas on my build so here it goes. I put everything on so fast that I didn't get many pictures as I get so excited I forget to take them. I do have pictures at each major stage. :shake
My Story:
I used to hate motorcycles a long time ago till I rode a dirt bike for the first time and LOVED it. I used to ride my 4-wheeler sun up to sun down at my parents place. The dirt bike opened my eyes to the true joy of motorcycles thanks to my ex-girlfriend of the time.
Now I move to more recent times and I have my best friend that just got out of the marines. He bought a 2007 r6s and he let me ride it in the parking lot at the local university and I was HOOKED!!! The next week I went into a dealership just to check one out and ended up walking out that day with a 2007 r6r. My friend ended up selling his r6s and getting a 2005 r1. Well in the end after putting 3k miles on it in 4 months, it gets stolen... Sadly my friend's r1 gets stolen 14 days after mine. He went out and bought a branded new 2011 r1, and I paid off what insurance didn't cover. From there I just sat without a bike for a few months, but I couldn't get over the rush and joy I felt on the motorcycle.
While my friend still had his 2005 r1, he let me ride it around the block (I live out in the country so not as many people around). It felt amazing compared to the r6 seeing as I am 6'2". From that day on I knew I was going to get a r1, it was just a matter of time. I was having trouble deciding between getting an 11 and a 12, but the blue r1s were hideous to me. While on vacation up to New England, I decided to pull the trigger on getting a 12 and the rest is history.
