I mostly do street riding.
Every now and then I feel like I bottom out my forks during hard braking...say while coming to a stop at a stop light doing 50 mph.
I have never changed or adjusted my suspension settings since I bought my 2010 R1 new. I plan on getting the suspension tweaked for my weight soon.
But generally, I feel like the suspension front and rear are stiff. Also I dont feel completely at ease with the stock tires in corners. I know all of you hate the stock tires, but I just wanted to run through them before I change to something better. I remember on my R6, when I switched to BT016, it changed the handling of the bike dramatically. Hopefully getting the stock suspension tweaked for my weight should help a bit.
If that doesnt help, and just from an informational stand point...
Apart from going for the Ohlins FGRT forks at 2000$ upwards, or the Ohllins Fork Kits around 1200$, what other options does one have for the 2009+ R1?
What are the benifits of just changing out to Ohlins/Race tech Springs and Piston Kits? This seems like a cheaper option rather than going for the much more expensive options. Just not sure if its money well spent.
