FS: 1994 White YZF750R - With Mods - 13K Miles - $4900 - Central NY

Think I've done this right....

1994 YZF750R, 12,500+ miles currently riding, extremely clean, extremely fast. A Fantastic example of old school horsepower. Carbs cleaned and synced at the beginning of 2013, approximately 500 miles on new Bridgestones.
The YZF750R arrived in early 1993 and was based on the OW01, however it shared no common parts with its famous older brother. Though not as rare and collectable (yet), the YZF750R proved itself to be a highly competent and user friendly bike on the street. Present on this model are a six-speed gear box, dual 320mm discs up front with six-piston calipers, and Yamaha's EXUP system allowing the bike to pull hard through the entire rev range. MSRP of $10,500 back in 1994. If you're a fan of bright-colored graphics, yellow wheels, and a clean example of what mid-nineties sport bikes were all about, then this bike should be right up your alley. This YZF750R will draw compliments from those who are fans as well, but is not so outrageously priced and pristine that one has to be afraid of enjoying what this bike was built to do; go fast.
Inverted forks
6 piston calipers
26,000 mile valve adjustment intervals
Genesis 5 valve head
1994 bike of the year for Cycle World
1995 bike of the year for SportRider

The last one of these that actually sold on eBay brought $5500. I have $4900 into this with the new tires and carb work. Looking for a Kawasaki ZRX1100/1200, ..... something more upright. Maybe a motard, enduro and $$. Doesn't have to be showroom condition, but don't offer me your beat up, laying behind the barn crap. Mine is 99% perfect, expect the same, anything less.... don't bother me. Not looking for a timeshare swap, Don't need a snowmobile and a rooster, and $1500 will not even get you my address.

UPDATE: Parts for these bikes are just as hard to find if not harder than the bike itself. Any exhaust systems in the U.S. have been trashed, rashed, and bashed. You're going to need to get lucky enough for someone in the U.K., to sell AND ship one... and then you're gonna get BONED on shipping! I have just purchased a box of spare parts off a bike that was converted into a track bike, at 5,000 miles, and a period correct Yoshimura slip-on. Misc parts, brackets, cooling fans, cables, tail light, yada, yada, yada.... Installed the pipe... sounds great. Also just picked up a partial set of ORIGINAL replacement vinyl graphics off eBay... included with sale. Spent $375 on this last purchase. $250 will get this extra lot of parts and the pipe. Bike is currently in Central New York.

This may look stupid, but I don’t know much about chassis. And I need your help. :scared
I already have year 2000 R1 Chassis. And I can find 2004 R1 engine, exhaust, suspension and faring kit (Except the 2004 chassis).

Question is, can I fix the 2004 running gear to my 2000 Chassis?

I wanna do it as a project (In my country it’s hard to find a chassis. Illegal.)

Thanks a lot :)

Hi I am wondering if anybody can help answer a few questions I have. I have a 2001 r1 and it gets so hot at the bottom next to my catalytic converter that it melts my plastics. If I take the bike to a local shop and eliminate the converter and just straight pipe to my muffler will it be OK? Any suggestions or advice would be great. Thanks.

Yoshimura 3/4 exhaust cancels cats?

$

Hey guys, first post here. I just picked up an 07 yamaha R1 a couple weeks ago, absolutely loving the bike! Previous owner told me that the yoshimura exhaust on it is a full system. I was surprised by how quite it is, my R6 with two brothers full exhaust was way louder. I use the bike for commuting, and I do a lot of lane splitting. So I need to be heard on the street. I'm looked around a lot but couldn't find any answers. I understand that the yoshimura full system isn't really a full system, more like half haha but does it eliminate the cats or not? the pipes are wrapped with heat wrap so I cant really see. Thanks!

since were on subject of valve tap heres another vid..

after hearin the last vid my bike sounds similar, i just put this motor in 1 week ago, it has 12k on it. from an 06 r1, the guy says the valves were checked at 11 k and on spec, its not very loud but it does have a noticable tick especially when fully warm, all the r1 vids on youtube seem to sound this way but im not familiar with the "normal" tap of yamaha engines because i mainly have owned gsxrs and kawasakis which dont sound like yamahas at all. would you say this is normal valve tap or no? it runs great just a bit noisy compared to my other bikes but according to the shop i got motor from all valves were in spec. heres the link to vid, the humming noise is just the fans. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-FOf...J4joFtT3MR6M0g

Clean title. I bought the bike off the owner after he had lowsided. The accident was slow but still managed to scratch or destroy all of the fairings. I replaced it all with oem fairings that I had in storage as shown. The tank is from my old 99. The fit had to be slightly customized to make the seat fit around the the tank side panels. The subframe looks to have also previously been repaired. The bike runs strong and has no 2nd gear issues. I replaced the stock chain with a new did erv3 520 setup. The brake fluid has been replaced and the system recharged. I have an old carbon fiber tank guard and also some tech specs grips. Let me know if you have questions. I also have the stock mirrors and front turn signals. The price is negotiable. First come first serve.

I'm a R1 owner but my house mate is having dramas with his Kawasaki

$

Was going to post on the kawa forums but the amount of knowledge that is on this forum i thought i would get better help.

4 months ago my housemate and i were riding on the highway on the way home when their was half a blown out truck tyre on the road i dodged it than a 4x4 flicked it up into my friends face causing him to crash at 110kmh.

damaged engine cover LHS and every fairing, foot pegs, exhaust, tank ect.
we replaced cracked engine cover, oil and filter charged the battery. Turned the bike over with the fuel tank disconnected to spread the oil around.

connected the fuel tank and tried to start. but during the whole time of trying to start the immobiliser light is flashing.

the bike was bought from my house mates sisters partner who bought it new. but can't find the red key and doesn't remember if it came with one.

what would be the best way to resolve this issue? I'm thinking that the red key needs to be inserted in order to unlock the ecu
